Perth Pilates Instructor Workshops & Masterclasses
17–18 July 2026
Chrisen Presence is coming to Perth for a practical weekend of Pilates instructor education at Heartbeat High Pilates.
Designed for qualified Pilates instructors and teachers-in-training, this workshop series focuses on the skills that make the biggest difference in real-world teaching: cueing, hands-on teaching, anatomy, programming, and advanced Reformer instruction.
Expect practical learning, movement, discussion, and evidence-informed strategies you can immediately apply in your own classes and private sessions.
WORKSHOPS
Advanced Reformer: Teaching Beyond the Basics (SOLD OUT)
Friday July 17
11:45am - 1:45pm
A practical workshop for certified Pilates instructors wanting to confidently teach advanced Reformer exercises from the original Pilates repertoire in modern group environments.
Learn how to safely progress clients towards advanced exercises, adapt repertoire for mixed-ability classes, and use effective layering and teaching strategies that make advanced movement more accessible, challenging, and successful.
Understanding the Core: Anatomy for Pilates Instructors
Friday July 17
2:15pm - 3:45pm
An anatomy workshop designed specifically for Pilates teachers.
Explore how the abdominal wall, diaphragm, pelvic floor and deep trunk muscles work together to create stability, movement and efficient breathing. You’ll leave with a clearer understanding of core function and practical ways to apply anatomy directly to your cueing and exercise selection.
If you’ve ever wondered why “engage your core” isn’t always an effective cue, this workshop is for you.
Hands-On Cueing: The Art of Tactile Teaching
Saturday July 18
11:15am - 1:15pm
Discover how touch can improve body awareness, movement quality and client understanding.
This highly practical workshop explores tactile cueing techniques, consent and professional boundaries, and when hands-on teaching can have the greatest impact.
You’ll spend the majority of the workshop practising a wide range of hands-on techniques that you can immediately apply in both group classes and private sessions.
Your Cue Isn’t Wrong. It’s Incomplete.
Saturday July 18
1:45pm - 3:45pm
Many instructors know what they’re trying to teach but struggle to help clients actually feel or perform the movement.
This workshop explores the theory behind effective cueing, actionable communication strategies, and mind-to-muscle connection to help clients move with greater confidence and precision.
If you’ve ever found yourself repeating cues you’ve heard from other instructors without fully understanding why they work—or why they sometimes don’t—this workshop is for you.
If you’re passionate about teaching with greater precision, helping clients feel the right muscles, and understanding the reasoning behind every cue you give, you’ll leave with a completely new way of thinking about cueing.
MASTERCLASSES
A limited number of instructor-focused Reformer masterclasses will also be available throughout the weekend, giving participants the opportunity to experience Chrisen’s teaching style and apply the concepts explored throughout the workshops.
