ZURICH — TWO-DAY REFORMER INSTRUCTOR TRAINING
Saturday 26 & Sunday 27 September 2026
12:30–18:30 each day
Rütistrasse 2, 8640 Rapperswil-Jona
Zurich, Switzerland
Become a more confident, effective Reformer Pilates instructor.
Whether you’re newly qualified or looking to strengthen your teaching, this two-day intensive is designed to develop the practical skills you need to teach stronger Reformer classes.
This isn’t about learning hundreds of new exercises.
It’s about learning how to teach.
Across two practical days, we’ll explore the skills that make the biggest difference to your classes: clear cueing, purposeful programming, confident coaching, effective hands-on cueing, better observation and the ability to adapt your teaching to the people in front of you.
You’ll begin each day by taking a full Reformer Masterclass before we break down the programming, sequencing, cueing, layering and coaching decisions behind it.
Expect to move, discuss, practise and teach.
You’ll leave with practical systems and ideas you can immediately apply to your own classes.
WHAT YOU’LL LEARN
• Build greater confidence as an instructor
• Improve your cueing and communication
• Use hands-on cueing safely and effectively
• Programme stronger, more engaging Reformer classes
• Create smoother class flow and transitions
• Layer exercises for mixed-level groups
• Progress and regress exercises effectively
• Teach advanced repertoire with greater confidence
• Improve your observation and coaching skills
• Make better teaching decisions in real time
SATURDAY
FOUNDATIONS OF GREAT TEACHING
12:30–18:30
Reformer Masterclass
Start the day by experiencing a full Reformer class with Chrisen before we analyse what happened.
We’ll look at the programming, sequencing, cueing, layering and coaching decisions used throughout the class — and, importantly, why those decisions were made.
Workshop 1 — Back to Basics: Becoming a Better Instructor
Strong teaching starts with strong foundations.
We’ll explore:
• Teaching position and instructor presence
• Clear, efficient cueing
• Observation skills
• Building confidence in front of a class
• Professionalism and studio etiquette
• Connecting and communicating with your clients
• Responding to what you see rather than simply following a script
Workshop 2 — Hands-On Cueing & Practical Coaching
Develop greater confidence using tactile cueing through practical partner work.
We’ll explore:
• When hands-on cueing is useful
• Consent and professional communication
• Safe and effective tactile cueing
• Supporting clients to find a position or movement
• Knowing when to remove your hands
• Coaching without over-cueing
• Practical techniques you can immediately use in class
SUNDAY
PROGRAMMING & PROGRESSIONS
12:30–18:30
Reformer Masterclass
Experience another full Reformer class before we break down the programming, sequencing, progressions and teaching decisions behind the session.
Workshop 1 — Programming Better Group Classes
Learn how to create Reformer classes that feel purposeful, engaging and adaptable without becoming unnecessarily complicated.
We’ll explore:
• Class structure and sequencing
• Creating smoother transitions
• Layering exercises for different abilities
• Programming for mixed-level groups
• Keeping classes creative without becoming random
• Improving class flow
• Making smarter exercise choices
Workshop 2 — Teaching Advanced Exercises
Advanced repertoire doesn’t need to disappear from group Pilates — but it does need to be taught thoughtfully.
We’ll explore:
• Recognising when clients are ready to progress
• Building towards advanced repertoire
• Progressions and regressions
• Breaking complex movements into achievable layers
• Coaching advanced exercises within mixed-level classes
• Maintaining movement quality as challenge increases
